Rock Island Sound has one-stop music stores in Rye and Tarrytown, both staffed with the area’s top musicians and music teachers offering music lessons, summer music camps, and instrument repairs. Our music teachers in Tarrytown and Rye specialize in all types of music, from classical to jazz to rock. Whether it’s piano, singing, or guitar lessons, the goal of Rock Island Sound is to provide the best experience for all students and customers through knowledgeable staff, expert instruction, great service, and community outreach through music camps, and instrument repairs at our Tarrytown and Rye locations.

SABRINA AULT
Sabrina Ault is a 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist based in New York. Sabrina is currently a student at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music as a Studio Composition major. She is multi-faceted in her musical experience, ranging from classical performance to live sound engineering. She has been writing music for as long as she can remember and is passionate about the technology that aids the creative process. This drive has led her to proficiency in playing many instruments professionally, including flute, marimba, drum set, piano, and guitar.
MAX DARCHE
Maxilmilien Darché received his Graduate Degree from Purchase College in May 2008 after studying under the guidance of legendary Jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis. Prior to attending and receiving his undergraduate degree from Purchase College in 2006, Darché studied at Manhattan School of Music for several years, receiving tutelage from Lew Soloff and Vince Penzarella. Developing his career in music, Darché has performed on Grammy Nominated Recordings and with various groups in New York and beyond, including appearances at Birdland, the Newport Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall, and on Broadway. Darche has performed as a member of the Jon Faddis Jazz Orchestra of New York (the successor to the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band) since 2009. Darché also provides instruction to younger musicians, serving as a Professor of Music at Sacred Heart University.

ALAN LIGHTY
Alan Lighty is a Classically trained musician who has been teaching guitar since 1972. He is a multi-instrumentalist with a Master's Degree in Composition from Yale University.
As a recipient of several Council of the Arts Grants, his compositions have been performed around the world. An expert in fingerstyle Country Blues Guitar.
